Islamabad: The Pakistan Army announced on Thursday that it successfully thwarted multiple attempts of infiltration by drones from India.
According to an official statement, the army claimed to have destroyed a total of 26 Israeli-made Harop drones using both soft-kill (technical) and hard-kill (weapons-based) methods.
The military stated that debris from the destroyed drones is being collected from various locations across the country.
This development follows an earlier press conference by the military's spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, who revealed that since the night of May 7-8, India has been attempting to breach Pakistan’s airspace using drones. At that time, he reported that 12 drones had already been downed, with further operations ongoing.
In its latest statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) emphasized that India has resorted to using Israeli-made Harop drones to attack Pakistan after its aircraft and drones were previously intercepted and destroyed. The ISPR described this as a sign of India's "frustration and desperation."
